Enhancing School Bus Safety
School bus accidents, though rare, remain a significant concern due to their potential severity. According to the National Safety Council (NSC), there were 104 school bus-related fatalities in 2022, with the majority involving occupants of other vehicles and pedestrians. Additionally, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) data from 2012-2021 reported 206 school-age children fatalities in school transportation-related crashes. Common injuries include fractures, sprains, and contusions, often occurring due to collisions, rollovers, and incidents while boarding or exiting the bus. These statistics highlight the critical need for enhanced safety measures and training to prevent such accidents and protect children. Our solution integrates real-time monitoring and alert systems to ensure safer school bus operations, helping to reduce risks and improve overall safety.
